By cone theory and the fixed point index,we study the existence of positive solutions to a three-order boundary value problem with dependence on the first order derivative.     

Effect of viscous dissipation on natural convection heat and mass transfer from vertical cone in a non-Newtonian fluid saturated non-Darcy porous medium

In this paper we investigate the influence of viscous dissipation and Soret effect on natural convection heat and mass transfer from vertical cone in a non-Darcy porous media saturated with non-Newtonian fluid. The surface of the cone and the ambient medium are maintained at constant but different levels of temperature and concentration. The Ostwald-de Waele power law model is used to characterize the non-Newtonian fluid behavior. The governing equations are non-dimensionalized into non-similar form and then solved numerically by local non-similarity method. The effect of non-Darcy parameter, viscous dissipation parameter, Soret parameter, buoyancy ratio, Lewis number and the power-law index parameter on the temperature and concentration field as well as on the heat and mass transfer coefficients is analyzed.     

A new one‐step smoothing newton method for the second‐order cone complementarity problem

In this paper, we present a new one‐step smoothing Newton method for solving the second‐order cone complementarity problem (SOCCP). Based on a new smoothing function, the SOCCP is approximated by a family of parameterized smooth equations. At each iteration, the proposed algorithm only need to solve one system of linear equations and perform only one Armijo‐type line search. The algorithm is proved to be convergent globally and superlinearly without requiring strict complementarity at the SOCCP solution. Moreover, the algorithm has locally quadratic convergence under mild conditions. Numerical experiments demonstrate the feasibility and efficiency of the new algorithm. EXISTENCE AND MULTIPLICITY OF POSITIVE SOLUTIONS TO THIRD-ORDER PERIODIC BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEM

The existence and multiplicity of positive solutions to a periodic boundary value problem for nonlinear third-order ordinary differential equation are established, based on the zero point theorem concerning cone expansion and compression of order type. Our main approach is different from the previous papers on the existence of multiple positive solutions to the similar problem.

内锥式流量计数值模拟及优化设计

多相流过程参数的准确测量在石油化工与冶金工业等工业过程中十分重要。内锥式流量计作为一种新型差压流量计在多相流测量中逐渐受到关注,它能在较短的直管段条件下对流体实现准确的测量,但其结构尚存在优化的空间,需进行深入研究。本文对传统内锥式流量计做结构变形和优化研究,利用计算流体力学(CFD)方法对DN50 mm水平管道中内锥变形体的流场进行数值模拟,分析在不同结构参数下锥体的水力特性以优化结构。数值仿真结果表明,综合内锥式流量计在取压点、永久压损及测量精确度等因素,优化后的结构可以显著降低永久压损,提高测量重复性和精确度。
